  • Updated description of MapSPAM Yield from

This dataset is part of the MapSPAM series on spatial production. It is produced as result of the MapSPAM Model Process. Yield is calculated as the amount of production per harvested area. As it is a measure of productivity, yield is the weighted average of the four production systems (irrigated farming system, rainfed-high input farming system, rainfed-low input farming system, rainfed subsistence farming system). Yield "is a measure of productivity, the amount of production per harvested area, and is measured in kilograms per hectare. The total yield of a crop, when considering all production systems, is not the sum of the individual yields but the weighted average of the four yields." <br> *Yu, Qiangyi; You, Liangzhi; Wood-Sichra, Ulrike; Ru, Yating; Joglekar, Alison K.
