  • Updated description of MapSPAM Production from

This dataset is part of the MapSPAM series on spatial production. It is produced as result of the MapSPAM Model Process. It represents the actual harvested production of an area in metric tons by multiplying the harvested area by its corresponding yield. Therefore it covers all production systems of a specific crop (irrigated farming system, rainfed-high input farming system, rainfed-low input farming system, rainfed subsistence farming system). "For each production system and crop, production is calculated by multiplying area harvested by its corresponding yield. It is measured in metric tons. The total production of a crop includes the production of all production systems of that crop." <br> *Yu, Qiangyi; You, Liangzhi; Wood-Sichra, Ulrike; Ru, Yating; Joglekar, Alison K.
